An early Bursley Ware Citrus Fruits Jug  by Charlotte Rhead dating to the 1940's. An impressive jug in the highly collectable lustre glaze, depicting large citrus fruit (or possibly pommegranates) in bright orange and yellow, surrounded by leaves, blossom and buds. The base glaze being in the mottled 'cafe-au-lait'.

The jug is marked to the base 'Bursley-Ware Charlotte Rhead England' and carries the hand-written pattern number TL5 and the tubeliners mark for Emmie Morris which is an X.

The jug measures approximately 9½ inches (24cm) high and approximately 7 inches across the widest part. In excellent condition with has no chips, cracks or restoration, though there is a tiny flaw on the top rim which looks like it occurred during firing.
