A stunning Crown Ducal (AG Richardson) single handled vase in the 4511 Manchu pattern by Charlotte Rhead. This vase is in beautiful condition and shows the typical tube-lined work of Charlotte Rhead with bold designs and striking colours.
The 4511 Manchu pattern features a Chinese Dragon in green with a brown tail and neck finished with gold highlights, surrounded by cloud scrolls on a mottled green ground. This design dating to 1936 was exhibited at the British Industries Fair, has the Crown Ducal Made in England backstamp for that period, facsimile C Rhead signature and tubeliners mark H for Hannah Williams.
The vase, which bears the shape number 198 measures approximately 7¼ inches tall and is in superb condition, with no chips, cracks or restoration. A really pretty vase, which is very evocative of the era and would make a lovely addition to a Charlotte Rhead collection or as a really good example of mid-20th Century pottery from a famous designer.
