One of the 'must have' items in any Clarice Cliff collection, this Clarice Cliff Beehive Preserve Pot and Bee Finial Lid is in the ever popular Autumn Crocus pattern and is in excellent condition.
The pot is 4 inches tall (to the lid bee finial) and has the early 'Crocus Hand painted Bizarre by Clarice Cliff Newport Potteries' backstamp. The pot is in fantastic condition with no damage or rubbing to the paintwork on the main body. The bee is beautifully painted with dark wings. The only noticeable flaw is a tiny rub or possibly a paint chip to the honeyglaze on the underside of the lid. The inside of the pot is very clean with a small amount of light crazing to the inside base. The backstamp dates this piece to between 1930 and 1935.
An absolute 'must have' piece for both the novice and established Clarice Cliff collector.
