An early and quite rare Troika 'D' Plate, decorated in an overall bronze 'sand' texture glaze, with an incised pattern of stylised flower heads around the edge and a star pattern to the centre, with areas of gloss tin glazes in white and blue with the very centre being left bare of this gloss glaze. A really striking design and somewhat more unusual than the normal glazing generally seen on these plates.
The base of the plate has the printed mark dating this piece to the early 1960's before pieces were hand marked and decorator signed. The plate measures approximately 21cm (8½ inches) across the diagonals (widest point) and just under 8 inches across the flat sides. It is in perfect undamaged condition, and would make a rare addition to any Troika collection.
