An rare and early St. Ives Troika Textured Cube, decorated and signed by Marilyn Pascoe who worked at the Wheel Dream pottery in St Ives, and then at Newlyn between the late 1960's and 1974.
This vase is an unusual mixture of designs from the early smooth-ware styles featuring a centre circle, and the early rough-ware lightly inscribed pieces. The vase is an orange/brown colour with a light brown and almost lilac colour centre circle on each face. A row of 'dots', lines and triangles are impressed around the top edge of each face, and an abstract design graces each face within the circle.
The base carries the hand-painted Troika St. Ives England mark and the initials MP (often confused as being MD) for Marilyn Pascoe.
In stunning condition for its age, the vase measures 3½" (9cm) square and carries no chips, cracks or any form of damage.
