A beautiful and useful lidded bowl in Orchid and Spring Flowers from the Walter Moorcroft era, circa 1953. The design was originally drawn by William circa 1938 and then developed by Walter.
The bowl and lid carry a blue printed label bearing the Royal Warrant 'Potter to the late Queen Mary' which gives its dating from 1953 when the label came into use after the death of Queen Mary. The blue label indicates the bowl and lid are first quality; red labels denote second quality.
Bowl is 12cm (4¾") in diameter and 8cm (3¼") tall to the finial of the lid.
