An extremely rare figurine and seldom seen in the UK, this is 'Jean', modelled by Leslie Harradine on the late Jean Harlow who died in 1937 aged only 26. Hence this has a large following in the United States, and coupled with the limited production of between 1949 and 1959 makes this a piece rarely found in the UK.
The figurine is in good overall condition for its age, with a couple of minor scratches/pricks to the paintwork, predominantly on the red cape. The base carries the Royal Doulton backstamp and hand-written 'House Number' of HN2032, dating her as an early piece, possibly 1949/1950.
This figure carries a UK book price of £275 if obtainable. Standing 7½" tall, she would make a stunning addition to a Doulton Figurine collection.
