Royal Doulton produced a range of Whiskey Flaggons for the Whyte & Mackay distillary, this range from the 1970's & 1980's comprised Birds of Prey. This particular flaggon is the extremely popular and attractive Osprey and is the second largest next to the Golden Eagle. Designed and modelled by D Littleton, this model was available in 1977.
Standing 8" tall, this is an impressive model for both a collector of birds and also Royal Doulton. The flaggon no longer has its contents or plastic stopper and is purely an ornamental piece.
In excellent and unmarked condition, this particular version is the earlier of the three production runs, and has much better definition in both the paintwork and the moulding.
