This is a rare catalogue from 1994, when between 17th and 21st May, Harry Lyons created a stunning sale exhibition of Troika pottery at New Century in Kensington Church Street in London. This exhibition followed on from his 1993 Poole Pottery exhibition, and introduced Troika to the wider world of collectors of Cornish art pottery.
This catalogue contains a wealth of information relating to the history of Troika, and a fascinating insight into the hopes and ideas of the founders, Benny Sirota, Jan Thompson and Lesley Illsley along with a number of beautifully constructed photographic plates showing a selection of Troika designs. There is a section devoted to the staff and decorators, giving information on decorators names and monograms found on the base of genuine Troika pieces, and some rare photos of some of the staff working at the pottery. Spanning some 30 pages of text, colour and black & white photographic plates.
We have secured a small number of these rare catalogues in excellent condition, with just a few minor marks and scuffs from storage. We are unlikely to be able to obtain any more as these are long out of print and were printed in very limited numbers solely for the exhibition. We would thoroughly recommend a copy to complement any Troika collection.
