Now one of the more elusive iconic pieces of Troika is the Type T0601 Chimney Vase. This example is decorated by Marilyn Pascoe who worked at the St Ives and Newlyn sites between the late 1960's and 1974.
This Chimney has two very contrasting sides, one is painted with a natural stone coloured ground with blue decorated infill, the reverse has a dark blue ground with lighter shades to the incised decoration. The 'edge' and chimney of the vase is glazed in a bright titanium white tin glaze with a dark edge to the rim of the chimney hole.
Vase is in excellent condition but exhibits some of the usual in-factory flaws commonly associated with this type of pottery, most notably some glaze bubble 'pops' and misses on the glazed edge and top . Vase stands 8 inches (20cm) tall (max) and is 4½ inches (11.5cm) wide by 1¾ inches (4.5cm) deep.
