A cracking Troika T0701 Coffin Vase decorated by Louise Jinks who worked for the pottery between 1976 and 1981, and was the Senior Decorator from 1979. This piece is in the very collectable and sought after 'Piston' or 'Engine' design, so named because the front side of the vase appears to show an engine piston/cylinder and flywheel/con-rod.
Decorated in a bright 'Troika blue' colour, the deeply incised pattern is picked out in grey and brown. The inside of the vase is in high gloss white glaze with a dark blue top rim.
The vase stands 6¾ inches tall and condition is excellent with no chips, cracks or restoration. A popular and iconic starter piece for someone looking to collect Troika, or as a good focal piece for a contemporary art pottery collection.
