We have managed to acquire another of the very desirable Troika T0804 small Textured Cube Vase in this iconic pattern depicting a fish, beach, sea and sun design on the front, and a 'Desert Island' scene with a palm tree, beach and sun on the obverse. Representative designs are always more popular than the purely random geometric and abstract designs, and this particular pattern is always sought out by collectors and is quite hard to obtain.
Decorated by Jane Fitzgerald (later Parsons), who worked at the Troika Newlyn pottery between 1976 and 1983, the vase is in a wonderful blue ground, with the decorated faces highlighted in light brown, cream, dark blue and brown. Vase is in stunning condition with no chips, cracks or restoration guaranteed. Size is 9.5cm (3¾ inches) square by 9cm (3½ inches) tall approx.
A beautiful little vase which has all the really good attributes of the Troika design that would grace any collection of Cornish ceramics.
