A beautifully crisp and colourful Troika T0802 Cube Vase in a geometric abstract abstract design.
The base carries the hand-written Troika mark and a monogram HF which is currently an unidentified decorator. In the late 1970's, the Troika pottery employed a number of trainee decorators and fettlers on the Government Youth Training Scheme (YTS), many of these trainees only working at the pottery for a short while. Much of the work by these trainees was of exceptional standard, and this cube vase is a good example. This monogram can be found on many different types of Troika pottery, and no doubt at some point in the future will be attributed.
Each face of the cube is different, comprising of designs of squares, diamonds, circles, triangles and a spiral pattern, and as is usual for these cubes, two faces are highlighted in additional colours and two are plain in the ground colour. Overall, the vase is a dark grey/green colour with the two decorated faces being picked out in a light blue and brown . The interior of the pot is in the bright titanium white gloss tin glaze.
Vase is in stunning condition and is 9.5cm (3¾ inches) square by 9cm (3½ inches) tall.
