A stunning Large T1502 Cube Vase Vase or Flower Pot, this example decorated by Ann Lewis who worked at Troika between 1966 and 1972 both at the St. Ives and Newlyn sites.
This particular piece is moulded in high-relief on two sites and unusually decorated on all four sides with coloured panels, the vase is of the rough matt stone form with a dominant dark petrol blue/green ground. The coloured panels show a mixture of rust brown, cream, blue and black and internally the vase is glazed in white gloss as is standard with Troika pottery.
Standing an impressive 15cm (6") cubed, with a circular cutout in the top face, the base carries the Troika mark and monogram for Ann Lewis (AL) and the faded remains of a Heals price sticker. Vase is in superb condition and does not carry any chips, cracks or restoration and is fresh to the market after being purchased from a collector who has had this piece in their display cabinet for the past 40 years or so; we have carefully removed the layers of accumulated dust from inside before offering this piece for sale! There is a very slight amount of crazing to the white glaze in the base, and you should note that what appears to be a crack showing in the top right hand corner of the base photograph are in fact just scratch lines in the bisque.
