This is one of a 'matched pair' of Troika Medium Wheel Lamp Bases decorated by Sally Bart who worked at the Newlyn pottery in the mid 1970's. This vase is decorated in bold earth colours on a mottled light brown ground which makes this a striking and useful piece. It has wonderful deep relief patterns in dark brown, blue and cream, in geometric patterns containing circles, squares and triangles.
The base is 8 inches (20cm) tall excluding the light fitting which takes the overall height to 11½ inches (29cm) by 6½ inches (16cm) diameter and has been professionally converted, re-wired and safety tested to UK specifications. In excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration.
A stunning Troika piece that can be used as originally intended! All that is required is the fitment of a suitable shade and light bulb.
