We have managed to source another very popular T2508 pattern Brick Vase in the design often referred to as the Wireless Vase due to its stylised 'tuning knob, tuning scale and loudspeaker grille'. This particular vase was decorated by Alison Brigden (later Strutt), who worked at the Troika Newlyn pottery from 1976 until 1983. She was Head Decorator from 1981 and took over from Louise Jinks when she left Troika and her work is very collectable and sought after.
This vase stands 20cm (8 inches) tall and is decorated in deep relief on a bright 'Troika Blue' ground with the pattern highlights in dark mottled grey/brown, cream and ochre in a matt glaze. Both sides have been beautifully decorated, with detail highlighted in the heavily sculpted pattern. The inside of the vase is glazed in the white high gloss tin glaze. The vase is in excellent condition with no detectable damage or restoration.
A really lovely bright piece by a well respected Troika decorator that is sure to enhance any Troika collection. This would make a good investment piece, particularly as good quality rare shape and pattern Troika pieces are increasingly hard to find.
