A beautifully crisp and colourful T2604 Slab Vase decorated in deep relief on both faces. The front with circles both proud and inset in blue, green, brown and beige, the verso being in brown, beige and blue. The edges of the vase are in bright titanium gloss tin glaze as is the interior.
The Vase stands 6¾ inches (17cm) tall by 4½ inches (11cm) wide. The base carries the hand-written Troika Cornwall mark and a monogram EW which is currently for an unidentified decorator. In the late 1970's, the Troika pottery employed a number of trainee decorators and fettlers on the Government Youth Training Scheme (YTS), many of these trainees only working at the pottery for a short while. Much of the work by these trainees was of exceptional standard, and this slab vase is a good example. This monogram can be found on many different types of Troika pottery, and no doubt at some point in the future will be attributed.
