A T3004 Medium Wheel Vase decorated by Sue Lowe who worked at the Newlyn pottery for a short time between 1976 and 1977, so pieces decorated by her are somewhat rarer than usual.

The vase is decorated in a deeply sculpted aztec influenced design in matt stone glaze in muted tones on a light brown ground with pattern highlights picked out in petrol blue, moss green and cream.  The vase is approximately 16.5cm (6½ inches) diameter and is about 4.5cm (1¾ inches) wide. The base carries the hand-written Troika Cornwall mark and the monogram SL for Sue Lowe.

A beautiful vase in lovely condition with no chips or cracks evident though it does have a couple of tiny edge frits close to the base foot and one slightly larger edge cut which probably occurred after the biscuit firing but before decorating, as it has been overglazed; none of which are uncommon for this type of vase and don't impact the piece but which we mention for complete accuracy.
