A T3005 Small Wheel Vase by one of the currently unidentified decorators, heavily sculpted in an unusual flower/daisy design on the front and a geometric pattern verso . The vase has a diameter of 9cm (4½ inches) and 2.5cm (1 inch) deep and the base carries the usual Troika mark.
It is decorated in rough stone glaze in with the main body in a light Troika blue with areas of the pattern picked out in white, black and brown. The base carries the hand-written Troika Cornwall mark and a monogram believed to be either LP or CP. In the late 1970's, the Troika pottery employed a number of trainee decorators and fettlers on the Government Youth Training Scheme (YTS), many of these trainees only working at the pottery for a short while. Much of the work by these trainees was of exceptional standard, and this wheel vase is a good example.
