The second of our absolutely stunning monumental Plum Wisteria Vase from the hand of William Moorcroft. This vase dates from circa 1920 and carries a full hand-painted signature by William in blue and the standard small impressed Moorcroft mark indicating these were made prior to 1928 when the Royal Warrant mark was introduced.
The vase is a beautiful Cobalt Blue ground with 13 pairs of Wisteria Plums in shades of yellow, plum-red and purples, surrounded by leaves and flower buds. Vase stands an impressive 10 inches (25.5cm) tall with a maximum diameter of 5 inches (13cm). In totally unmarked condition save for some minor glaze crazing as is normal on vintage Moorcroft items.
Plum Wisteria is one of the rarer patterns and is highly sought after by collectors. We are fortunate to have purchased two of these vases and together they make a stunning matched pair. Please look at our other vase here, or through the Moorcroft category menu.
