A wonderful and seldom available Large Mooblit Blue Footed Bowl by William Moorcroft circa 1922.
The bowl has an impressive three-tree landscape within the bowl, and unusually has a continuous landscape around the outside of the bowl with four small trees. Set onto an associated silver plated foot with open base (unlike the Tudric closed bases) which enables the base marks and Williams initials to be seen.
Moonlit Blue is one of the rarest patterns available and examples seldom appear on the open market. We are offering this piece from our own collection.
In excellent overall condition with very little age-related crazing. There are no cracks/hairlines however there is a minor glaze chip to the inside rim which, when the bowl is displayed with the landscape correctly orientated is not visible. The price reflects this flaw, and though an invisible restoration would be perfectly possible we would leave that up to the buyer to decide if they wanted to do this.
The bowl is an impressive 7¾ inches (19.5cm) wide by 4 inches (10cm) tall.
