A stunning Large Pomegranate Footed Bowl by William Moorcroft from about 1922. The bowl is decorated inside and out in beautifully painted pomegranates, grapes and leaves. The inside bowl has five large Pomegranates with two cut through showing their seeds. The circumference of the bowl is decorated with eight slightly smaller fruit, two of which are open showing seeds. The base carries William Moorcroft's full signature in blue, the impressed Moorcroft and Made in England stamps, and additionally a rare Moorcroft paper label bearing the shape number in pencil.
In excellent overall condition with very little age-related crazing, though there are a couple of firing imperfections as is often seen with large Moorcroft pieces of this era. The bowl came directly from a lady who had the piece for many years in a china cabinet, so is guaranteed not to have any restoration.
The bowl is an impressive 10 inches in diameter by 3 inches tall.
