A beautifully decorated 6.5 cm tall miniature Flambé Anemone squat or onion vase by William Moorcroft circa 1938. The base carries the William Moorcroft facsimile impressed mark with Potter to HM the Queen under, and Made in England which dates this piece accurately to circa 1938 when the original Anemone pattern was introduced.
The vase has been wonderfully lightly over-glazed with the Flambé glaze giving a rainbow of colours where it has merged with both the ground and pattern glazes. There are two anemone flowers in differing colours, one in reds, orange and yellow and a darker more purple flower on the other side. The foliage is of the more elongated form found on the early pattern anemone making this easy to distinguish from the much later anemone developed by Walter Moorcroft.
In beautiful condition with no chips, cracks or restoration and no crazing to either the body or base. Just a beautiful small vase in lovely condition.
