The second of a matched pair of 7cm tall Plum Wisteria miniature vases by William Moorcroft circa 1920. This vase has seven pairs of Wisteria flowers surrounded by leaves and flower buds on a dark cobalt blue ground. The base has the small Moorcroft and England factory marks faintly impressed.
Wisteria is an extremely collectable pattern, and this small vase carries the pattern extremely well. The vase is bright and clear, with the Wisteria flowers being painted in the wonderful plum red, violet and yellow.
The condition is excellent, with no chips, cracks or restoration. There is a very light overall crazing to the clear glaze layer that is expected on a piece of this vintage.
A beautiful vase that would brighten up any collection and with its matched pair partner would look absolutely stunning.
