A very pretty miniature Plum Wisteria Vase from the hand of William Moorcroft and dates from circa 1920. The vase has 7 pairs of Wisteria flower 'Plums' in tones of yellow, plum-red and purples, surrounded by leaves and flower buds, and has a lovely delicate shading and decoration to the body and shoulder. Vase stands only 3½ inches tall with a maximum diameter of 2½ inches but has a lot of 'presence' for such a small piece due to the care in which it has been tubelined and painted.
The base has the small impressed 'Moorcroft' and 'Made in England' impressed marks, along with the vase shape number M22 .
Plum Wisteria is one of the rarer patterns and is highly sought after by collectors. Vases such as these are getting much harder to find in original undamaged/unrestored condition.
